Áalo is an upcoming Middle-Eastern café that doubles as a wellness and nutrition service. Opening in late January, Áalo is a café located near a gym that provides drinks, pastries and snacks, as well as authentic cooked meals to individuals looking for a healthy food source that still tastes rich and rewarding. Co-owned by a professional nutritionist and experienced restaurant owner, the two women are hoping to reapproach the way food and wellness are imagined.
The owners wanted a logo that could be used interchangeably between the café seated areas, and the dedicated office for nutrition clients. When discussing the needs for the logo mark, they expressed the desire to move away from traditional café motifs, and instead wanted something that was more recognisable in relation to health and food.
The creation process for this logo mark followed the direction of the owners closely, with the final approved logo type being reminiscent of Middle-Eastern branding with the gold colours and gradients, and brand pattern. After completing the logo, follow up designs were created for an introductory nutrition goal postcard, as well as designs for some of the café packaging.
